Vacation Bible School Overview

At Tell It on the Mountain, our 2013 VBS (August 26th to 30th), your children will learn about God through five mountaintop Bible accounts where God meets His people with clear messages of His might and power. God’s message of salvation through Jesus our Savior is one to shout out and share from the mountaintops to the four corners of the world. As the children hear the Bible stories at our VBS, they will learn who our almighty God is and how He works in their faith and life. This VBS is for children ages 4 - 12 years of age!

Just as solid rock walls provide a secure anchor for climbers to ascend the mountain face and strong knots in their rope hold them close to that rock, God’s Word is rock solid truth. God Himself is present in His Word, providing a solid anchor and holding us securely against the buffeting of sin, Satan, and death. God’s Word is life—now and forever. VBS runs Monday to Friday 6:15pm to 8:45pm at Mount Olive!

Base Camp Opening Energize Expeditions (groups) for their Climb with Music Mountain Song Action Videos and Cliffhanger Skit Videos.

Summit Storytelling This is where God’s life-giving Word is taught at VBS! Kids are actively involved in the Bible account and its mountain-top experience as they read, see, and interact with the 2013 VBS Bible stories.

Knot 2B4GOTN Bible Challenge Connect with God’s rock-solid Word! Kids engage in activities and songs as they connect to the daily Bible story, memory verse, and Take-Home Point.

Vista Crafts Crafts are fun and engage different parts of the brain to serve as witness tools and reinforce God’s Word.

Trailside Snacks Creating with food, eating delicious snacks, and learning about Jesus—what could be better! Nourishing their bodies for more VBS fun is an important part of a mountain-top experience to tell the Good News of Jesus!

Cliffhanger Games It’s all about extreme energy, excitement, and a little bit of silliness. Get kids moving and reinforce the daily lessons. This unified approach helps kids grow in their faith, have fun, and prepare for the climb of a lifetime.

Base Camp Closing At the close of each day of VBS it’s important to reinforce the Bible teachings from that day. This is when kids come back together to sing, connect with God’s Word, share offerings for the Mountain of Hope mission project, receive their Tell It! VBS collectible for the day and watch the Cliffhanger Skit Videos.

We are pleased to have Ashley Andrews as our VBS Co-ordinator again this year! Mount Olive is also pleased to announce a special musical guest this year, Kelti Malone, who will be leading music and teaching some of her own songs to the kids! Come and join the fun and give your kids the opportunity to grow in their faith!
