My Church: Visit Mount Olive - I do sincerely believe you will feel blessed as a result - Valiera Lawson
Dear Friends,
My husband and I began attending Mount Olive Lutheran Church over two years ago. We feel very blessed that the Holy Spirit has led us here. Each time we attend services, we feel fed and nourished by the Word of God. Our ministers, Pastor Terry Defoe, Pastor Ted Giese, and our Vicar James Preus, preach that we need to repent of our sins, to humble ourselves before God, and then through the grace of God we are able to give our lives to Jesus.
Between services we love to gather for coffee, baking, and great fellowship in the fellowship centre. We all have name tags, so it’s easier to communicate by name, particularly if you are a visitor or new to the church. People truly listen to one another, laugh together, and are most accepting of each other.
Bible studies are held in the library lounge. Although there are a number of desirable options, I presently attend the Tuesday afternoon ones from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. led by Judy Grande. There are around ten women in our group; the small size seems to encourage sharing. The present session focuses of “Resting in Jesus.” We are studying Bible passages and discussing, using our own life experiences, how we might all love and show empathy toward one another.
Please consider visiting our church. I do sincerely believe you will feel blessed as a result.
Yours in Christ,
Valiera Lawson
