Covid-19 Update June 2021
Dear friends in Christ,
Grace and peace to you in Christ Jesus our Lord,
As of May 30th, Step 1 of the 2021 Provincial Reopening Plan will take place. The guidelines for places of worship read: “30 per cent of capacity or 150 people, whichever is less, at places of worship, with physical distancing between households;” This will allow us to increase our attendance from 30 people back to a 1/3rd capacity, plus those who facilitate the Service.
In light of this new guideline Mount Olive will start its reopening process on Sunday June 6th, in all 3 Services. We have 25 spots in our sanctuary, which can accommodate 1 to 4 people with proper social distancing. We'll be able to use them all, which means the TOTAL number of participants in every Service may vary. HOWEVER, we won’t resume our Sunday fellowship between Services at this time.
We will continue to have the 1PM Service still for some time. We would like to encourage all to come to Church every Sunday, for we should have spots for everyone who wishes to attend every weekend. We also encourage our members to utilize all the three Services to continue to space ourselves out as much as possible.
This covers also weddings, funerals, baptisms outside of Sunday and Church Services as well as any other functions that the Church might hold during that time. We will continue to follow recent Public Health Orders mandating masks must be worn at all times indoors. We are closely monitoring the situation in Regina in order to determine the best way to move forward in the light of steps of the Provincial Reopening Plan. If you have questions about any particular activities please contact the church office.
Registration for Church Services will continue and we will continue to have Divine Service with Holy Communion at 9am, 11am and 1pm on Sundays.
Weekly opportunities to receive Holy Communion for members outside of Sundays will still be available with one small time and day change:
Tuesday Morning 9am – 10:45am
Wednesday Evening 7:30pm – 9:15pm
Saturday Morning 9am – 10:45am
Wednesday evening provides a chance once a week for those working during the day to come for Holy Communion. This change will be in place for the foreseeable future.
With love yours in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Ted Giese & Pastor Lucas Albrecht,
the Board of Elders, Church Council and Office
of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Regina, SK Canada
